KPTU Helps Support Cook Inletkeeper Temperature Research

KPTU Chapter members volunteered to help set-up the station and continue to pursue similar opportunities on other Kenai Peninsula streams. Bridge over troubled water?
Not anymore. This summer the Kenai Peninsula Chapter of Trout Unlimited partnered on a river restoration project with the Stream Watch Volunteer program. This project, in conjunction with the Kenai Peninsula Borough's Debris Removal program, set out to remove a washed out metal pedestrian bridge that was blocking fish access to healthy spawning habitat on Nikiski's Bishop Creek.

Cooper Landing Dock Removal
Several KPTU Chapter members in Cooper Landing spearheaded the removal of a wayward 5000-pound dock that broke free from its mooring on the Kenai River and was found stranded downstream leaking creosote into the River. As a result of this work, the grateful owners of the dock, who were wintering outside of Alaska, made a generous donation to the chapter.
